To watch IPTV on an iPhone or iPad, download an IPTV player from the App Store that supports M3U playlists or Xtream Codes, then sign in with the details from your IPVario welcome email. You can watch on the device itself or send the picture to your TV with AirPlay. Setup takes about five minutes.

What you need
- An iPhone or iPad with a recent version of iOS or iPadOS.
- Wi-Fi or mobile data. Wi-Fi is recommended for longer viewing.
- An IPTV player app from the App Store.
- Your login details, which you receive by email after ordering an IPVario IPTV plan.
Step 1: Choose an IPTV player in the App Store
Search the App Store for “IPTV player.” Player apps don’t include any channels themselves; they play the content from your subscription. When comparing apps, check:
- Login support: M3U playlists and, ideally, Xtream Codes (what’s the difference?).
- A TV guide (EPG) for live channels.
- Recent updates and reviews, a sign that the app is actively maintained.
- The App Privacy section on the app’s page, which shows what data it collects.
Step 2: Sign in with your IPVario details
Open the app and add a new playlist or account. With Xtream Codes, enter the server URL, username and password; with M3U, paste the playlist link. Tip: copy the details from the email on your iPhone and paste them into the app to avoid typos.
Step 3: Watch on your TV with AirPlay
Want the picture on the big screen? You have two options:
- AirPlay from the player: tap the AirPlay icon in the app (if available) and choose your Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible Smart TV. Many recent Samsung, LG, Sony and Vizio TVs support AirPlay 2.
- Screen Mirroring: open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring and choose your TV. This mirrors your whole screen, so notifications will show too.
Watching mostly on the TV? Installing a player directly on an Apple TV, Fire TV Stick or Google TV device gives a smoother experience and frees up your phone.
Watching on mobile data
Streaming uses a lot of data: as a rough guide, around 3 GB per hour in HD. To stay in control:
- Choose a lower quality in the player when you’re not on Wi-Fi.
- Turn off mobile data for the player under Settings › Cellular (or Mobile Data) if you only want to watch on Wi-Fi.
- Turn on Low Data Mode in your cellular settings when your allowance is running low.

Tips for a better experience
- Use Picture in Picture (if your player supports it) to keep watching while you use other apps.
- Keep the app and iOS up to date for the best compatibility.
- If a stream stutters on Wi-Fi, move closer to the router or switch to your 5 GHz network. See 7 tips to fix IPTV buffering.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an official IPVario app?
IPVario works with third-party IPTV player apps. You use the login details from your welcome email in the player of your choice.
Can I watch on my iPhone and my TV at the same time?
Yes, if your plan includes two screens. Each device that streams at the same time counts as one screen. See the multi-screen plans.
Why does the app say “login failed”?
Usually a typo, an extra space or an incomplete server URL. Our troubleshooting guide walks you through the fixes, or contact IPVario support.
